The finals of the 10th ‘Maker China’ Jiangsu Province SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition have come to a successful conclusion, with Moli Semiconductor winning second prize!
On 4 September, the final of the 10th ‘Maker China’ Jiangsu Province SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Nanjing. Organised under the guidance of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial SME Development Centre, with support from the industry and information technology bureaus and enterprise development (service) centres of each prefecture-level city, the competition saw 30 outstanding projects emerge from nearly 600 projects following four months of intense competition comprising 13 regional rounds and five themed rounds, advancing to the final showdown. A panel of expert judges conducted a comprehensive assessment based on criteria such as technological innovation, market potential, team strength and prospects for industrialisation. Following on-site notarisation, the first, second and third prizes were awarded.
Since entering the competition, Moli Semiconductor has progressed from the regional rounds to the thematic rounds and subsequently secured a place among the top 100. Ultimately, in the final, the company missed out on first place but achieved the commendable result of winning second prize. It will subsequently represent Jiangsu in the competition for the national ‘Top 500 Enterprises’ ranking.
This year’s competition also attracted the attention of numerous venture capital firms, bringing together 10 renowned investment institutions—including Jiangsu Provincial High-Tech Investment and Yida Capital—who attended in person. A special ‘Project Investment Heat Index’ was introduced for the final round, with multiple institutions voting to select the 10 outstanding projects most favoured by venture capitalists; Moli Semiconductor once again received unanimous recognition from the institutions.
An Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Market was specially organised at the finals venue, bringing together a range of specialised services including product exhibitions, policy briefings, innovation assessments, management consultancy, legal support and investment and financing matchmaking, thereby effectively facilitating the precise alignment of innovative achievements with industrial resources and market demand. Moli Semiconductor also set up a product exhibition area at the venue and assigned dedicated staff to provide explanations and facilitate connections.
